The Wildlife Society 19th Annual Conference is taking place in the Rose City of Portland, Oregon, October 13-18, 2012. The conference will be held at the Oregon Convention Center.

Call for Student Research in Progress Posters

The Student Professional Development Working Group invites students to submit Research-in-Progress Posters covering topics in wildlife science, management, conservation, education, human dimensions, or policy. All undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. students are eligible for this session. More.

American Association of Wildlife Veterinarians

The American Association of Wildlife Veterinarians is partnering with TWS this year in Portland. Members attending this conference will enjoy AAWV co-sponsored Wildlife Health plenary session and symposia, a workshop on wildlife necropsy and sampling, continuing education credit through ACZM,  and we’ll hold our annual members meeting as one of the related meeting events. This is a great opportunity for AAWV members and other wildlife professionals to network and provides the opportunity to broaden the wildlife health professions affiliations through dual membership with this important organization. 75th Anniversary of The Wildlife Society

We will celebrate the 75th Anniversary of The Wildlife Society at the annual meeting in Portland. The Plenary Session, organized by President Paul Krausman, will highlight the past, present and future of our Society. A Commemorative Edition of The Wildlife Professional will be published as the Fall, 2012 edition, and will be distributed to all members. Extra copies will be available for purchase. The cover of that issue, which will have images of our founders and other significant leaders, will be done by a professional artist and will also be available for sale as a poster. T-shirts displaying the logos of both the Portland Conference and the 75th Anniversary will be available for pre-meeting orders. A 75th Anniversary pin will be given to all meeting attendees and will be available for purchase by other members of the Society. A 75th Anniversary “gala” will be part of the meeting festivities.  All the more reasons to attend this annual meeting and help us celebrate this milestone in TWS history!
